My President Is Better Than Yours: Goodbye Earl

For some reason I keep hearing The Dixie Chicks' country hit "Goodbye Earl" in my head.  The only difference is that in my song, the words are changed to "Goodbye Bush!"  We've got a new peacemaker in town and he's here to stay.  What's more important than that is that he's welcome in countries all over the entire world! Play the video and sing along while you read.  Join in the Obama celebration and proclaim, "Goodbye Bush!"

Dixie.Chicks - goodbye earl

Congratulations are in order to Barrack Obama, the 44th president of the United States and the first African-American president of the United States of America.  He was greeted in his home at The White House with a telephone call from representatives from the Nobel Peace Prize Committee.  This prize is awarded every year to people and organizations who have made outstanding achievements and contributions to world peace.

President Barrack Obama

The president's great efforts toward world peace and his promotion of disarmament are hailed as additional reasons for this high honor that has been graciously bestowed upon the president.  Mr. President consistently goes out of his way to do what his predecessor refused to do.  He makes frequent attempts to meet with leaders of other nations to discuss and displays royal diplomacy throughout his interactions at home and abroad.

This president realizes that it is up to us, the American people, to engage in the global decision-making process as one collective body.  This is in stark contrast to the bullying behavior that the previous administration has strewn across the globe.  We all want peace.  Fortunately, we are now headed in that direction.  The newest Peace Prize Laureate, President Obama, earned his ward, "For his extraordinary efforts  to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples," according to representatives of the Nobel Foundation.  The Nobel Peace Center is located in Oslo, Norway.

As an African-American, I am extremely proud to see this day.  Peace and Barrack Obama are seemingly synonymous.  We have known this for a long time.  I feel safer living in a world in which its leaders both here and abroad have a deep and now apparent understanding that America, her people, and her president stand together for peace.  As parents, we can all rest just a little bit better.  What a tremendously wonderful guidebook for our offspring to follow.

Rest well America, sweet home of mine, and every other nation around the globe.
